This position plays an integral role of supporting the activation and post campaign analysis of the national promotional plan alongside supporting key merchandise categories through the implementation of their category marketing strategy and plans.

This will involve working closely with both the Marketing and Solutions Teams plus many other stakeholders internally and externally, both at Support Centre and Mitre 10’s stores.  In this role you will develop a robust understanding of your assigned categories, gaining insight into market opportunities, industry developments, channel effectiveness and customer behaviours.

This marketing position is within a busy, ever changing retail environment, so we are looking for someone who can carve their mark in an environment that is sometimes quite fluid and deadline driven.  This is a role where you can really develop your reputation as an emerging star.

In conjunction with the Retail Marketing Manager and the Group Manager Retail Marketing, relevant strategies will be implemented, executed and measured by the Retail Marketing Specialist with a focus on delivery of advertising campaigns across channels including TV, radio, digital, social, eDM and online, the development of relevant promotional collateral, and supporting the wider retail marketing team where needed.

Reporting to the Retail Marketing Manager, this role will see you providing support in three key areas:

  • Campaign management – manage all aspects of a given promotion to ensure brand standard compliance, strong focus on accuracy, consistency and adherence to deadlines and pre and post campaign analysis to be undertaken and leverage learnings for future campaigns;
  • Category Marketing support– take ownership of key categories by building strong stakeholder relationships, and gathering key information from relevant meetings to input into the promotional planning process to ensure these categories are accurately represented to leverage opportunities and meet objectives
  • Communication – ensure all internal and external stakeholders are fully briefed on promotional objectives and creative content for relative media channels to ensure objectives, strategies and brand standards are adhered to and delivered as required.

This role has a strong communications element, requiring someone who can work well with others, and utilise effective communication, negotiation and diplomacy skills.  We therefore require you to have an excellent command of the spoken and written English language, along with strong people skills.

To be successful you will have a minimum of 3 years post-graduation marketing experience, ideally within a retail or product environment, a good understanding of the end to end campaign development process to deliver multi-channel campaigns, excellent attention to detail and planning skills, and the ability to embrace change and continuous improvement.
