Love bringing stories to life through design? Join us as a News Graphics & Digital Designer and create bold, digital-first visuals across TVNZ’s platforms.

The opportunity – Te tūranga

As News Graphics & Digital Designer reporting to Blacksand Design Lead, you will be designing creative multi-platform graphics across TVNZ’s brands and approaching your work with a strong digital first mindset.

While primarily servicing the graphics requirements for the news on TVNZ+ and 1News.co digital teams, you’ll also be supporting 1News, Te Karere and other news and content production requests. You’ll contribute to the creative environment and support the wider graphics team with concepts and visual ideation, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.

There may be requirements and times to work different shift times, or work during weekend or on a public holiday.

What we’re looking for – Tā mātou e kimi nei

To be successful, we are looking for the following:

·         Minimum 2 years industry experience.

·         Excellent design and composition skills and applying them in visual story telling

·         Ability to work within brand design guidelines and templates.

·         Able to communicate creative thoughts and ideas to others.

·         Self-starter, pro-active, passionate to work across design projects of all sizes.

·         Photography skills and an eye for good image composition.

·         Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

·         Can work flexibly across multiple different tasks in a day.

·         Able to take feedback and deliver to stakeholder briefs.

·         Ability to anticipate design challenges in a brief and quickly solution them.

·         Forward thinking and innovative, aware of industry developments.

·         Skilled in Adobe Creative apps – in particular, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop.
