Our client is the internal design team within one of NZ’s government healthcare providers. They champion the needs of users in the design of new spaces, services, experiences and products via the application of human centred design methodology, ensuring the experiences and input of patients, whānau and staff are central throughout the design process. They are a values-based organization, and community engagement is key to their success.

They are searching for an Experience Designer to join their team.

This role requires candidates who can use various experience design methods and tools to bring ideas to life. You will create prototypes and test these with end-users in collaboration with product owners to rapidly iterate and validate concepts. You’ll need a strong understanding and experience in design research and user testing across all stages of a product. You’ll work effectively and communicate clearly with users, service and third-party providers to ensure solutions add value.

Candidates for this role must have:

A commitment to multi-culturalism and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori and Pacific communities
A qualification in design, public health or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification
3-5 years’ design experience working on projects that creatively bring about improvement and change
An understanding of the various approaches to design e.g. double diamond, human-centred design and co-design tools
This fantastic role is based in central Auckland, and could either suit someone looking for full-time or reduced hours with some flexibility.
